W5, D2 - Run 5k
34:08 which is my best 5k time ever! Is it considered a PR if it is a training run and not at an actual race?
I completed the Couch to 5k program with my friend Amanda and celebrated with a 5k race in November 2009. Now I am totally addicted to running races, getting the tee shirt, and every once in a while a new PR. Up soon.. Training for my 2nd Half Marathon..yikes! This blog is a way for me to keep track of how far I have come and it's also to remember that for someone with Hashimotos, Asthma, and a lazy streak who just started running at 38 years old, I'm doing pretty darn good!
Corey,
ReplyDeleteI have just spent the last 45 minutes reading your blog and I am addicted!! I just completed C25K on Friday (started the same date you did a year ago!). You are very inspiring! I am absolutely loving running and I have officially signed up for my first 5K in Nov (gulp). I am 37 and am in better cardio shape than I have ever been and I too live in Omaha. I do have a question. How do you keep track of your times, runs, etc. Is that on your garmin? If so, what model do you have??
Thanks,
M
PS: Love the socks you rock in races!

ReplyDeleteCongrats on the C25k! Awesome to you for keeping up with it.
What race are you doing in November? I have been looking for one (detrimed to have redemption for slacking on my last 5k) and can't find any. No one likes to Turkey Trot around here? ;)
I keep track two ways.. one with a calendar that has my training schedule on it. I then write down every run, time and distance, after I complete it. I also have a Garmin 205 and love it! I am visual and all about the numbers so the Garmin is perfect. After races I upload all the data to Garmin Connect... then I obsess over it. LOL
Thanks so much for reading all of my blog. It's pretty boring but the photos are funny. ;)
